Following the request of Mayor Shuki Ohana, KKL (Keren Kayemet L'Yisrael — JNF) agreed to begin work to improve the Ibikur junction. The work will include lighting, excavations and improvement of the electrical infrastructure.

The junction, a running and walking area for all the city's residents, includes a flat walking route through the Biriya forest. Hundreds of residents of the city of Zefat go there every day to enjoy outdoor activities. .

Although the area is not within the jurisdiction of the Zefat
municipality, Ohana worked to promote the project with the JNF for the betterment of the lives of Zefat residents.
